Aren’t Lip balms always a must-have. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that most of us wont even think of leaving home without it.

I am personally obsessed with lip balms. Having tried and tested plenty, here are some of my favourites. Not only are they super nourishing but they are extremely affordable as well.

Given the constant weather change, taking care of lips is vital. Having lived in London for long, adjusting to the unpredictable weather, the cold and the occasional harsh winters, you just can’t do without good moisturising products.

With numerous brands out there, picking what suits you can be tricky but it’s quite important. While looking for lip balms, I look for those that hydrate and are soothing but at the same time not sticky, waxy or heavy.

A little tip. Always make sure that you dab on some lip balm as a lipstick base especially before using matte lipsticks.

Here’s a list of my favorite lip balms that will promise to keep dryness and chapped lips at bay.

I tried these first in London. I just can’t get enough of these. I mean how cute do they look. They come in so many flavours that you could choose from.

My favorite among them is the vanilla mint, sweet mint and the strawberry sorbet. There are also flavors like summer fruit, lemon drops and more.

The vanilla mint and the sweet mint flavor feels minty fresh on the lips with a subtle tingling sensation when you first apply. It’s great for daily use and is totally non-greasy. The best thing is that it smells and tastes so good, that you’ll keep liking your lips all day long.

I must say that they are pretty awesome.

If you are looking for a drugstore lip balm, then the go-to lip balm is definitely Carmex. It is extremely hydrating and makes lips exceptionally soft. It acts as a great base before applying lipsticks and stays on for a long time too. It gives a cooling sensation. Its moisturising nature makes it perfect for dry, chapped skin. In spite of its texture which looks thick, when applied it glides on smoothly.

This one is a great steal!

This iconic product that a lot of people rave about is worth trying. It’s a basic balm with soothing properties. It’s also meant to be multipurpose.

The tube lasts for a really long time. It’s a nice product to get rid of dryness.

Dr. Pawpaw Original Lip Balm

This Kiehl’s lip balm #1 who everyone seems to love is a great moisturizing product. Its light and stays on for a really long time. They come in various flavors. I am currently using the pear one which is very subtle and hydrating. I wouldn’t say its my favorite but nevertheless it’s a descent lip balm.

For daily hydration, who wouldn’t love some Vaseline.

I love it more that it comes in this lovely tin. Of course I’m a fan of the original, I mean who isn’t. But of late having tried the rosy lips flavor, they’ve become my favorite. There’s also aloe vera and cocoa butter and I think a few more special editions.

The rosy lips flavor with rose and almond oil is lightly tinted. Well I’m not a big fan of tinted lip balms, but this one I just couldn’t resist. The soft pink tint is extremely light. The texture is very smooth. Its got a very sweet scent to it and stays on for a long time.

They are not expensive at all and are great for dry lips.

The best drugstore lip-balm range definitely goes to Vaseline. These light weight, inexpensive lip balms are a must-have.

Out of all the body shop lip balms that there are, I really like the born lippy lip balm in strawberry which comes a plastic pot. Out of all the glossy lip balms, this is one of my top picks. It gives a nice glossy subtle pink tint. You can even pat a little on top of a matte lipstick. Its got a lovely scent to it and is of the perfect consistency. It’s not sticky at all.

I’m sure there are a lot more amazing lip balms out there. Do let me know what your current favorites are?
